1. Overview

Auto Shop Guru ("we," "us," or "the Service") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Payment information. When you purchase a Price Matrix unlock or an Expert Call package, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full credit card number. Stripe shares with us the transaction ID, payment amount, and the email address you provide at checkout.

Email address. We store the email address tied to each paid transaction so we can verify purchases and contact you if needed.

Sales data you upload. When you use the Price Matrix Optimizer, you upload a CSV of parts sales data. This data is sent to our server only for the duration of the computation. We do not retain a copy of the raw sales data after your session ends.

Calendly bookings. If you book an Expert Call, Calendly collects your name, email, and scheduling preferences and shares them with us so we can hold the call.

Usage and log data. Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically collects standard web server logs, including IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This data is used to operate and secure the Service.

3. How We Use Information

• To process payments and deliver the purchased unlock or call.
• To compute and return your recommended Price Matrix.
• To verify a purchase if you contact us about a transaction.
• To schedule and hold Expert Calls.
• To operate, monitor, and improve the Service.
• To comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

The Service uses the following third parties:

• Stripe for payment processing. Stripe's privacy practices are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel for application hosting. Vercel's privacy practices are governed by Vercel's Privacy Policy.
• Neon for database storage of paid session records. Neon's privacy practices are governed by Neon's Privacy Policy.
• Calendly for Expert Call scheduling.

5. Data Retention

Paid session records (transaction ID, email, payment amount, paid-at timestamp, and consumed-at timestamp) are retained for as long as we operate the Service and for any period required by tax or accounting law. Uploaded sales data is not retained after your session ends. Server logs are retained per Vercel's default retention.

6. Cookies

The Service may use cookies and similar technologies (such as browser localStorage) to keep your inputs in place while you complete a purchase and return to your results. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you. To make a request, contact us at support@autoshopguru.com. We will respond within a reasonable time frame.

8. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including TLS encryption in transit and access controls on our database. No system is perfectly secure. You use the Service at your own risk.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International Users

The Service is operated in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
